Bing brings the visual search for product advertising


Currently available for clothes and shoes, users can upload an image or click on the product result to shop for visually similar items.

The company announced Thursday that Bing has added new visual search features to its sponsored shopping results. Customers can click on the visual search icon in the product result to search for shopping search bars or visually similar items. The facility was introduced for apparel and footwear, extending to planned housing for the future.


Why do we not care?


For retailers that run Microsoft shopping campaigns, this feature can find their product on Bing's platform. On the other hand, it also facilitates comparative shopping, creating a more competitive environment for such products.

In Bing's sponsored shopping results, a visual search icon appears in the product listings and can be used to find other products similar to that list.
By clicking the visual search icon in the Bing Shopping Search box, users can upload an image or paste the image URL to search for similar products.
On some product results, Bing Shopping also has a "Goals Well" section, which recommends complimentary clothing items.
